ABOUT FORT AND FETCH
Always ready for an adventure.
I'm Christine, a local Fort Langley resident. I grew up in a dog-crazy family, where walking our family dogs and exploring new trails was my favourite pastime. After university, while applying to different jobs, I kept running into the local dog walker on the trails. She looked like she had the best job, which inspired me to do some research, make a plan, and move to Vancouver to start Paws at Play.
Over eight years I built it into one of the largest dog walking companies in Vancouver: five full-time employees, over a hundred clients, and a community built on a mutual love of working with dogs. After my daughter was born in 2016, my role switched from hands-on with the dogs to managing employees, so I made an exit plan, sold the company in 2018 and, with our family about to grow again, moved to Fort Langley.
While I was home with the kids, we kept that same routine. Getting outside every morning to walk our family dog, Doug, and burn off some energy. Now that the kids are in school full time, I am back to doing the work I love, spending time with awesome local dogs while having my best pal Doug along for every walk.

WHY OWNERS TRUST US
Choosing a dog walker feels like choosing a daycare. Owners want to know: will my furry family member be safe? Will they be cared for? Will they come home happy? Here are some of the reasons Fort and Fetch is your dog's top choice.
Consistency in walker
Fort and Fetch is a small company. You have a primary walker and a backup, and you will meet both. Contractors are paid a living wage, so turnover is low.
Distraction-free walks
Phones stay in pockets. The only time one comes out is for safety, or for your photo.
Extensive experience
More than a decade of professional dog handling, insured, bonded, and Pet First Aid Certified.
Quality of walk
Dogs are vetted to make sure they're a good fit for group walks. We walk for a full hour, not stand around at a beach or dog park.
Daily photos and reports
A short update and a photo after every walk, so you know how it went before you get home.

FAQ
Questions owners ask
Is a group walk an option for every dog?
Most dogs, but not every dog. Group walks are designed for social dogs who are relaxed in the car and have the energy for an hour-long walk.
Do you walk in all types of weather?
Yes. We're West Coast hardy and walk through heavy rain, freezing temperatures, and light snow. On really windy days we stay to fields and beaches rather than the forest trails, so nobody gets hurt by branches coming down.
Is travel time included in the hour-long group walk?
No. The clock starts once we're on the trail, so the full hour is walking. Plan for travel time on either side of the walk.
Do you allow dogs off leash on group walks?
Yes, where the trail allows it. Dogs with strong recall get off-leash time; everyone else stays on leash until their recall is there. We'll talk through where your dog is at during the Meet and Greet.
How will I hear how the walk went?
At the end of each walk you'll get a daily dog report with where we went, how it went, and a photo or two.
Start with a Meet and Greet.
The Meet and Greet is a chance to get to know each other. You can find out more about the company, and we can meet your furry family member and see if they're a good fit for our crew.
